← New Outdoor Table Tennis. Shakespeare In the Park 2013: As You Like It →Come and enjoy an afternoon of live music and family entertainment at Picnic in the Park, Sunday, 30th June, noon onwards, brought to you by The Friends of Queen’s Park.
Our talented line up features the brilliant Unsung Lilly, ska-jazz-psychadelic fusion outfit Oscillator, the We-Bop Community Choir and teen talent Outrage. Local Brighton sensation Silver Sounds is bringing some samba to Queens Park. For the little ones, there Picnic regulars Al Start and her wonderful songbook, the enchanting Wish Works Puppet Theatre and Bandbazi’s Trapeze Workshop.
There will be a selection of delicious food stalls and, for the first time, we have a bar run by those terribly nice chaps from the Kemp Town Carnival. As well as the raffle, bouncy castle and outdoor games, we are introducing a tea tent that will host the Great Brighton Bake Off with prizes in ‘Adults ‘and ‘Children under 16’ categories. Entries must be delivered by 1pm, and judging begins at 2pm by the Head Chef of Jamie Oliver’s, Brighton. Please check here for full details.
Tennis: Queens Park Lawn Tennis Club is offering free tennis sessions for both adults and juniors on the lower courts in the park, on the day between 1.00pm and 2.30pm. Come as you are: the club will provide equipment & know-how. For all details of the coaching programme at the club, click here.

Have Your Say: Friends Of Queen’s Park are going to use this year’s Picnic event to launch the first phase of a long awaited consultation on the future of the park. The Friends have been working with the Council towards finding ways of making the park a better place for everyone who uses it. It is your park and we need to know what you think about it. We will have a stall open on the day, so please visit us and tell us what it means to you, and how we can maintain, preserve and improve this verdant corner of Brighton. Your opinion matters!
