← Picnic In The Park 2013: 30th June – from Noon BARK IN THE PARK 2013 – PHOTO GALLERIES →Illyria’s As You Like It is a hit! “Absolutely glorious”, “Brilliant, hilarious and original”, “What better way to spend a sunny afternoon?” Come and enjoy this wonderful production at Queen’s Park on Saturday, 6 July at 7.30pm. Tickets available at the door.
For one night only, the lush grounds and imposing colonnades of the Royal Spa Nursery will become the Forest of Arden, in which four characters each find their soul-mates. One pair leap straight into bed, another are instantly struck by each other’s beauty and the third tease each other endlessly. The fourth couple enjoy a courtship that is so witty and playful that love itself is stretched to the limit: “Love is merely a madness.” It is fresh, funny, sexy, and when it matters, deeply touching. Here is some authentic audience feedback from the current Illyria production:
“Loved your As You Like It!”
“Hilarious, amazing production of ‘As You Like It’ last night – best clarity in a Shakespeare play I’ve seen recently”
“Fantastic troupe – very talented, we really enjoyed it”
“Absolutely glorious. What better way to spend a sunny afternoon”
“Quality. That’s the difference between Illyria Theatre and other touring theatre. Illyria never disappoints.”
And some quotes from the play:
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool”
“Men are April when they woo, December when they wed…”
“O wonderful, wonderful, and most wonderful wonderful! And yet again wonderful, and after that, out of all hooping”
Bring a picnic and wine if you wish and a rug or a chair to sit on. Dress up warm for the weather and a magical night.
