The Author Tent at Picnic In The Park

June 17th, 2015

Here is a new innovation for Picnic In The Park 2015: The Author Tent.Authors Collage v3

The Friends of Queen’s Park asked one or two talented local writers if they’d be interested in a bookish gathering at our favourite outdoor summer festival [Picnic In The Park, Sunday 28 June, from midday]. And happily they said ‘yes’, and ‘can we bring a friend?’. The result is our first Author Tent and we’re happy to report that it is going to be overflowing with literary talent.

A quite astonishing range of brilliant writers have now agreed to appear in the Author Tent to talk about all things books. We hope you will drop by to meet them, and discover some of the excellent works on offer, and maybe pick up a book or two for the beach this summer.

For grown ups, there will be a broad range of literary styles, from chilling psycho dramas to historical novels and more than a few strong female protagonists. For kids, the Author Tent will be particularly well supplied with original kidlit authors, so there will be plenty to occupy the young readers of Queen’s Park.

If there are any budding authors out there, of all ages, this is an amazing chance to talk to some published novelists and find out what it takes to get your work into print.

FQP will be publishing a full schedule of appearances shortly. Watch this space.

We’ve listed some of the authors coming to this event below. Take a browse through the names, and make the best of this opportunity to meet and talk with these authors face-to-face. Thanks to Laura Wilkinson and Beach Hut Writers for their help with this exciting new venture.
